Small but significant.

Arciniega Street was founded in ‘22 by Kendra Arciniega of Anchorage, Alaska.

Hi! Kendra Arciniega here – founder of Arciniega Street Productions.

I’d like to introduce you to a special little stretch of pavement called Arciniega Street. It’s a short street in the heart of downtown San Antonio, Texas stretching a modest 1,000 feet, almost a perfect 10 minute walk from The Alamo. This small street was named after my ancestor, a Tejano leader who lived inside The Alamo for a period of time and helped found the city of San Antonio hundreds of years ago. Among the many generations of family who’ve lived in this area have been musicians, politicians, and community liaisons – Tejanos who are all about family, sharing culture, bringing people together, and celebrating the arts. Born and raised in Texas myself, I moved to Alaska with my family at a young age but made my way back to my ancestral city for college. Now I’m back in Alaska with my wife, Mercedes, building community wherever and however we can. It’s important to feel connected to home, wherever that may be.

This production company is named in honor of the proud Tejanos who came before me – both my great-greats and living family members alike. Through their own stories and efforts, these proud Latinos created pathways for me - generations away - to continue telling important stories, building community, and lifting up others. Mercedes and I are dedicated to lifting up Latine, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ artists and celebrating the intersectionality within those communities to which we both belong. Quite like its namesake, Arciniega Street is small but significant and full of heart. We are the clashing intersection of the arts, culture, and community. We’re happy to be here.

Thank you for believing in what we do,

Kendra
